Bernard Trafford letter to the Times ‘School quotas’

The Times, 19/01/15, former HMC Chairman, Bernard Trafford, Headmaster of the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle

Sir, The government should buy places for bright, poor pupils at selective independent schools.

My school is not alone in being strongly in support of this. It’s just a shame that successive governments have lacked the nerve (they certainly don’t lack the funds) to put it into practice.

Bernard Trafford
Headmaster, Royal Grammar School
