Rt. Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education
Matthew Parris, Times columnist
Lord Cashman, Labour peer and actor
Supported by Stonewall
In the first of our conferences devoted to important pastoral issues, Brighton is hosting a conference on Homophobic bullying in schools, to be held on Tuesday 24th November 2015.
Why might you attend?
Firstly, because as you are no doubt aware, this is now a key focus of ISI and Ofsted inspectors, with the Equality Act clearly embedded in the British values which all schools must now promote.
Secondly, because it will provide an opportunity to hear directly from the Secretary of State, the witty and thoughtful Times columnist Matthew Parris and the former Eastenders actor, Labour peer and gay rights activist Lord Cashman.
Thirdly, because Stonewall will be providing us with practical and effective ways for tackling homophobia in schools.
And, most importantly, because it matters. All bullying is wrong but this form of bullying is too rarely tackled head on by teachers and school leaders. Together, we can help to change that.
