HMC Chairman Dr Christopher Ray opened his address to members at the 2012 Annual Conference in Belfast this morning by saying that "Education should be exciting, exacting, enriching and ennobling" that "Every good and successful school provides such an education for its pupils. But there are many ways in which this may be done. There is no single pattern, no single mould, no single formula for a successful school."
At the 2012 Annual Conference, HMC members will enjoy an interesting programme over the next few days which will see key debates on selection, universities, the olympic educational legacy and the relationship between government and education.
