HMC Response: Ofqual quality of marking report

HMC responds to the report published 07/06/13, by exams regulator, Ofqual looking at the quality of marking for GCSEs, A levels and other academic qualifications.

In the face of a crisis in the examination industry, exposed by HMC last year,  Ofqual has decided that the best policy is to deluge us all with 50 pages of carefully considered procrastination.

The essential messages of these pages appears to be that examining reliably is very hard to achieve.  Hence they need to think about the problems further.  So Ofqual goes into the summer season of examinations on a wing and a prayer.
