Private schools ‘bar existing pupils to aid results’

Some leading independent schools have been accused of getting rid of poorly performing pupils in order to boost their league table position. The news follows a survey by the Telegraph, 13/10/2013, which found that two thirds of leading independent schools had a formal entry requirement for their own pupils to continue into sixth form after GCSEs. HMC heads are quoted.
