Teenagers warned of mental health risk from social media

The Times, 06/12/2013: Teenagers face a growing risk of mental illness because of new pressures from the widespread use of social media sites, a leading headmaster has warned. Richard Harman, HMC Chairman-Elect and headmaster of Uppingham, one of Britain’s leading co-educational boarding schools, said that young people’s mental health was his main current concern.

In an interview with The Times, he said that based on his visits to other schools and universities, the incidence of mental illness among teenagers appeared to be rising.
