New College of the Humanities (NCH) is an award-winning, university-level college that is leading the way in UK higher education. The Times describes NCH as being “at the forefront of a new era, the academic equivalent of space travel”.
NCH offers liberal arts-inspired undergraduate degrees comprising a ‘major’ subject alongside a ‘minor’ subject. Subjects include Art History, Creative Writing, Economics, English, Geography, History, Law, Philosophy, and Politics & International Relations, as well as a PPE option.
In addition to their main degree, undergraduates also study the NCH Diploma, a rich mix of core courses in Applied Ethics, Critical Reasoning, Science Literacy and LAUNCH, the College’s professional development programme designed to prepare students for success after university.
NCH’s innovative curriculum has been developed by the College’s world-class faculty and is taught through an intensive, weekly one-to-one tutorial system. Students benefit from access to some of the world’s greatest thinkers that is unparalleled at undergraduate level, with Visiting Professors such as Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Krauss, Steven Pinker and Christopher Ricks delivering approximately 100 lectures between them each year.
The recent National Student Survey put New College of the Humanities top for undergraduate degree-level teaching for all of its key subjects in London and top for categories relating to intellectual stimulation, assignment feedback and support from academic staff and more.
The College is based in a stunning Grade I listed Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury, the cultural and academic heart of London. It is a short walk away from Senate House Library, to which all NCH students have access, as well as some of the best museums, galleries and theatres the city has to offer.
