At-a-glance monitoring and evaluation of pupils

Project description

Each pupil does weekly homework, weekly key term tests and half termly unit tests. These results are then put into percentages and entered onto a spreadsheet. At the end of each half term these results are put into a graph for each individual pupil. The background of the graph is divided into grade boundaries with each grade being given a different colour.

We can then see easily how pupils are doing over each half term: are their grades consistent or fluctuating? What grade are they performing at? Is there room for improvement?

Pupils then complete an evaluation sheet in conjunction with their teacher. They must assess their performance over the half term setting targets for the next half term. This allows pupils to see at a glance their performance over the whole period and set goals to improve their performance.

Pupils take control of their own learning, setting attainable targets to improve their performance.

Benefits

Pupils take control of their own learning. They can see how they are performing over a period of time and make changes to their work in order to improve. This system also helps to improve grades as pupils take control of their own performance, trying to improve each half term.
