All new staff, whatever their experience, benefit from
a structured induction programme. This includes a major
briefing session before the start of the school year and
then weekly sessions in which specific areas of the school's
life and policies are dealt with in a systematic way. This
links with the support given by SMT and HoDs.
Each new member of staff is also allocated a staff induction
tutor (an experienced member of staff) who as well as observing
lessons (the number reflecting the experience of the tutee)
will organise regular meetings to discuss the induction
process and other issues that might arise.
Specific provision is made for NQTs and Highgate also offers
QT training in some cases.
