Spirituality week

Project description

Week long programme of lectures and activities designed to extend pupils' understanding of their own spirituality. Artist-in-Residence built chapel in woods with help of pupils, lots of talks - e.g. Judaism and Spirituality, concerts from visiting groups (Oxford Clerks, London Gospel Choir) meditation meals - breakfast, lunch, Compline), poetry readings and music/word evenings etc.

Benefits

e.g. Priest-in-Residence for the week led voluntary communion in the 'green chapel' built in the woods - over 100 attended. Impressive meditative response - lots of periods of silence as a school. Genuine sense of engagement with the spiritual side of many who might otherwise feel remote from the chaplaincy in the school.
