Digital strategy: technology at the centre of great teaching and learning

José Picardo - Surbiton High School

José is Assistant Principal at Surbiton High School, where he leads on the development of the school’s digital strategy. His role is to facilitate the integration of technologies that support and enhance the processes involved in teaching and learning, always from a grounded, evidence-informed perspective. His school’s deployment of tablets to all students, which he devised and implemented, is often referred to as a case study of successful integration of mobile devices into the daily business of teaching and learning.

José writes regularly for the TES and other publications and has co-authored a book titled “Educate 1-to-1: The secrets to successfully planning, implementing and sustaining change through mobile learning in schools”. José was the recipient of a Pearson Teaching Award in 2015 in recognition of his work on digital strategy.
