What the best schools do in the light of John Hattie’s meta studies

Laura Kearney - Osiris

LK photoLaura is currently a Regional Director for Osiris Educational and the lead Visible Learningplus consultant in the UK.

In her previous post as a headteacher, Laura successfully led the development of Visible Learning in her school and their story is captured in the recently published ‘Visible Learning into Action: International Case Studies of Impact’.

Laura has over 20 years teaching experience, with 15 of those years in senior leadership positions, twice serving as a primary headteacher.

Professor John Hattie’s research was first published in 2009 in the book ‘Visible Learning – A Synthesis of over 800 Meta-analysis Relating to Achievement’ and was the largest every body of educational research.  Over the last 9 years, that evidence base has continued to grow providing us with even greater insights into what works best in education

In this workshop you will hear about the new research and its implications for our schools, as well as exploring the Visible Learningplus framework that helps us to translate that research into a highly effective implementation process for school change.
