Allow schoolchildren to rate their teachers, says top head

Graeme Paton reports in the Telegraph, 01/10/2013, on comments made by Richard Cairns, headmaster of Brighton College during the HMC annual conference. According to the report, Cairns said pupil feedback was a more effective method of holding teachers to account than Ofsted inspections or exam results and suggests the Government introduces a national appraisal system in which all pupils mark teachers against a range of indicators such as motivation levels, difficulty of work, behaviour management, marking quality and preparation for exams.
