Today, more than 30 schools, universities, charities and social mobility organisations have collaborated to publish the Widening Access toolkit. The toolkit is designed to support Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Heads of Sixth Form, Heads of Careers and those who work through the UCAS process, with applications to selective universities. The toolkit contains tips and strategies, from how to embed a healthy culture in a school to making applications stand out to applying to Oxbridge.
The toolkit can be found here.
General Secretary of HMC, Dr Simon Hyde said;
“The range of organisations, charities, universities and schools, state and independent, that have contributed to this document is astounding. I’d encourage both state and independent schools to look at this toolkit and consider whether applying some of the hints and strategies within would help their approach to university applications.”
