|New College of the Humanities (NCH) launched in 2012 to offer a new model of higher education in the humanities, comprising depth and breadth of study. We offer a unique liberal arts-inspired curriculum with highly personalised teaching.
Students can choose a major and a complementary minor subject from the following subject areas: Art History, Creative Writing, Economics, English Literature, Law, History, Philosophy, Politics & International Relations as well as PPE and PPH.
In addition to their main degree students also study the NCH Diploma, a rich mix of core courses in applied ethics, critical reasoning, science literacy and LAUNCH, our unique professional development programme. LAUNCH is designed to provide students with an understanding of areas such as marketing, teamwork or entrepreneurship; skills that will enable students to stand out in a fiercely competitive graduate recruitment market. The diploma is awarded to graduates in addition to their degree and sets them apart from their peers by emphasising the greater breadth of their education.
Our undergraduate students are taught through the one-to-one tutorial system, small group seminars and interactive lectures by a teaching faculty of inspiring and experienced academics with a passion for education and research. On top of that students also benefit from access to our world-class Visiting Professoriate. Our Visiting Professors such as Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Kraus, Steven Pinker and other leading academics, deliver a rolling series of lectures giving our students access to some of the world’s greatest thinkers that is unparalleled at undergraduate level.
We are situated in Bloomsbury, London’s cultural and academic quarter, just steps away from the British Museum and a few minutes’ walk from Oxford Street, Covent Garden, West End theatres and an array of galleries and museums.
