2F: Practical and proactive approaches to supporting wellbeing in schools, ‘How do we create a wellbeing culture for colleagues in our schools?’

Workshop synopsis:

Our staff are our most important asset. It is vital that we create a culture where promoting and supporting staff wellbeing is at the heart of what we do because an effective wellbeing programme will deliver mutual benefit to our staff, our schools, the economy and our communities. Investing in staff wellbeing can lead to increased resilience, better staff engagement, reduced sickness absence and higher performance. However, wellbeing initiatives often fall short of their potential because they stand alone, isolated from the wider school strategy and often seen as the responsibility of HR alone. To gain real benefit, wellbeing priorities must be integrated throughout our schools, embedded in its culture, leadership and people management. This workshop will explore the importance of championing staff wellbeing and will give practical and proactive approaches to support you in embedding a wellbeing culture.
