At HMC we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion amongst our team, members, schools and wider communities.
The association’s dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group exists to promote equal opportunities for all those working in HMC schools regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, disability or any other protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.
We recognise that schools, in common with other organisations, are working hard to be communities where diversity is celebrated, inclusion is expected, and equity is genuinely achieved.
The HMC EDI Working Group comprises members and other senior leaders in schools. It provides advice and assistance to HMC schools, gathering best practice from across the membership and more widely, gaining understanding from expert practitioners. The group also supports a large network of EDI leads within HMC schools.

Working with our schools, we have produced case studies and summaries of the activities at HMC schools, which have celebrated Black History Month and Pride.
