1G: What can be learnt from schools around the world

HMC’s International Division now numbers 60 Heads running outstanding schools in all corners of the globe; whilst those Heads undoubtedly benefit from their interaction with HMC’s UK-based Heads, perhaps there’s something to be gained the other way round! In this session three high-profile international Heads share their experience/involvement in some fascinating case studies.

Chaired by Vanita Uppal OBE (Chair International Division) a panel of HMC International Heads’ will deliberate on:

  • The benefits of partnership (Harrow’s international schools are some of the very best. Ann Haydon discusses the benefits of being part of such a powerful group of schools)
  • Reaching out to the local community (Where better to reach out to the community than in Africa? Antony Clark talks about the amazing work being done by pupils and staff at Michaelhouse)
  • How inspection can enhance performance (The inspection regime in the UAE is notoriously rigorous. Mike Lambert outlines how it raises the bar)
