HMC Executive Membership is designed for senior leaders in independent education who are shaping strategy, fostering innovation, and leading with vision—often at the helm of groups, foundations, or international school networks.

This membership offers the chance to:

Who is Executive Membership for?

This category is for individuals in senior executive roles within independent education who wouldn’t otherwise qualify for full HMC membership.

You might be eligible if you are:

  • A CEO or Executive Director of an independent school organisation or foundation
  • Leading a group of two or more international partner or franchise schools affiliated with a UK-based school

Please note that this is distinct from full UK or international HMC membership, which is available to Heads leading groups or foundations of schools.

Ready to Apply?

Applying is straightforward. You’ll need to:

  1. Email us with an expression of interest at [email protected] and attach your CV and job description
  2. Have an online call with the Director of Member Services – we will set this up for you
  3. Complete a short online application form – we will send you a link to this

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by HMC’s Director of Member Services and considered at the next meeting of the Membership and Professional Services Committee.

Executive Membership remains valid for as long as you are in your current role. If you move on, your successor is warmly invited to apply.
