During their career, half of all teachers will face a challenging situation that requires them to acquire specialist legal or employment support and advice. Whether that be an unfounded allegation from a student or parent, capability processes or formal disciplinary procedures, the nature of the profession necessitates school staff to protect themselves.
Traditionally, school staff would have to join a teaching union to access this support with over three quarters of teachers saying that this was their main reason for joining. Edapt was founded in 2011 by teachers who believed that school staff should not have to join a political organisation in order to get the protection and support needed for their professional careers.
Edapt provides teachers and education staff with complete support through high quality employment support services and legal advice in individual employment allegations and disputes alongside 24/7 mental health support from qualified professionals.
In addition to supporting individuals, Edapt also provides organisational level packages for schools and trusts.
