St George's College North is an independent co-educational day school situated on an eight hectare campus with purpose-built buildings and ample playing fields. Since it’s founding in 1990 St George’s College North has gained a reputation for itself as one of the leading schools in Buenos Aires.
Many experienced contract teachers from abroad work alongside Argentine colleagues to give the College a truly international atmosphere.Although the majority of our pupils are Argentine we also cater for international students. At least fifty per cent of the classes are taught in English. Although we are not as expensive as some British independent schools, St George’s College North is at the top end of the league in Argentina.
It follows, therefore, that most of our students come from fairly privileged backgrounds. We offer a first class bilingual education, whilst paying special attention to the formation and development of children’s characters through an extensive tutor and pastoral system. The integrated curriculum that we have developed fulfils the basic requirements of the Argentine system and adds the rigour of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations.
All students take IGCSE examinations at the end of Polimodal 1 and the IB Diploma in Polimodal 3, but also obtain their national Polimodal Bilingual Diploma at the same time. The IB Middle Years Programme and IB Primary Years Programme are also part of our curriculum.
We believe Sports, Music, The Arts and Community Service are an integral part of College life and much time is devoted to these areas. Our aim is to bring out the full potential of each one of our pupils.
